Kampung Agong

penang Sep 15, 2020

Wouldn’t it be nice if you can experience Bali even though you’re in Penang? Yes! Penang! There’s always something new here that can catch you by surprise no matter how many times you return to the same place.

Situated in Bakar Kapur, Penaga, about an hour drive from Penang Bridge, this place allows you to experience “kampung” life and have a short escape from the hustle and bustle of city life; its name is Kampung Agong.

Let’s have some fun facts 💡 before we continue our journey in this amazing place. Kampung Agong was opened to the public in Aug’19 and is managed by Ang Ee Zhan, who aged 18-year-olds this year. This place was originally a coconut farm and a paddy field since 1942, which owned by his grandfather, Ang Peng Tiam (with the nickname of “Agong”). With the idea of transforming this place into an eco-tourism attraction, Ee Zhan and his father slowly upgraded the facility and developed it into a relaxing local village.
